‘Campo Viejo present their most prized jewel: DOMINIO’
The newest wine from Campo Viejo, created for the company’s 50th Anniversary, is homage to La Rioja and to all the people that have made it possible for them to be a leader in the national and international wine market.
In honor of their 50th Anniversary, Campo Viejo is launching their most special vintage: DOMINIO. An addition from 2006 with 11 months in barrel, it reflects the actual intention with which wines of La Rioja have always been produced, in accordance with consumer tastes.
Campo Viejo’s Dominio was born with the aspiration of being much more than a wine; its creation is the faithful reflection of the brand’s philosophy on the production of their wines elevated to the highest expression. It is a tribute to all those people that, with their passion and strength and dedication, have made it possible for Campo Viejo to be the clear leader in the national and international wine business.
Dominion is Campo Viejo’s most prized gem, a wine of excellent quality that surprises us with its infinite complexity and elegance; and in which the spirit of La Rioja appears in each sip.
A well rounded wine, of great aromatic diversity which gathers its nuances from La Rioja, fruit from five selected plots of land that are considered to be Campo Viejo’s best vineyards: Cañada Valhondo, El Espino, El Cierzo, Caluengo, and Barriobusto.
Five plots of land from which have been produced six separate vinifications, with the objective of maintaining the idividulality of each vineyard and at the time, all of them complementary, contributing the wealth and richness of each soil and climate of La Rioja.
A wine of grand structure and volume thanks to 28 days of maceration.
A perfect blend between three historical varieties, Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo, which offer a wide range of shades, fruit, and structure, it appears excellent, its evolution due to 11 months of resting in new barrels, 100% French oak, originally selected by Elena Adell, winemaker of Campo Viejo and author of Dominio.
This has been one of the aspects most fraught with care when preparing Dominio: the selection of wood, those that best respect the original characteristics, and wine.
Elena Adell recalls Dominio, "that first place of vineyards. [It’s] a reflection of the spirit of Rioja from the source. This is the philosophy that inspires Dominio de Campo Viejo” Moreover, "the detail and pursuit of excellence makes it the best example of our wines. A wine that is sipped with pleasure and that you immediately want to show and share."
